"Artists Among Us" is a program for emerging artists. It is spearheaded by The Fountain Arts Center, in collaboration with its host sites. They are pleased to introduce artists to your community, and invite you to experience the wonders of the creative mind. Enjoy the new perspectives you will gain on life by sharing the creative visions of our participants. Artists learn the process of preparing and preserving art for presentation, writing their artists statements, and talking about the vision, goals, and methods involved in their process of creativity. Host sites enjoy the benefit of having original art in their own venues, and supporting emerging artists.
"Artists Among Us" in the Southern Tier and Western New York Regions are invited to submit their work for consideration to be supported through this program. They will meet with Fountain Arts Center directors, who will steer them through the process of presenting their body of work to the host sites. Artists of all backgrounds will be given the opportunity to have their art adjudicated to the standards of The Fountain Arts Center for Emerging Artists.
Host sites proposed for this round of "Artists Among Us" touring exhibit include: Jones Memorial Hospital, Cuba Circulation Library, Houghton College Community Gallery, Allegany County Office for the aging. The Fountain Arts Center, Inn at 26, Total Senior Care, The Wide Awake Club, and SheilaLynnK Art Studio.
"Artists Among Us" runs from January through December of each year, with exhibits of selected participants rotating from site to site at intervals of four to six weeks. The Fountain Arts Center offers flexibility to its hosts and artists by reasonably accommodating other programs and exhibits also being offered at each venue.
Artists interested in participating in the "Artists Among Us" program are invited to contact The Fountain Arts Center at any time of the year to be interviewed for a slot in the rotating exhibit schedule. They should contact the arts center by visiting the website or by emailing Wendy at email@example.com. Phone: 585-268-5951 or 585-808-5379
