Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day is an annual international celebration of women’s creativity and gender parity activism, which was co-founded by Martha Richards of WomenArts and Jan Lisa Huttner of FF2 Media in 2008. WomenArts led SWAN Day from 2008 – 2018 and selected Statera Foundation to lead SWAN Day starting in 2019.
SWAN Day is a grassroots effort that is being coordinated by Statera Foundation and WomenArts through the Statera Arts Website. Everyone is invited to help us create this new holiday. No fees or application forms are required.
Celebrated locally from 2014 to 2019 in partnership with Belfast Organization for Artists to shine a light on our local Women Artists as a Creative resource; SWAN Day Allegany County NY has been held in honor of the many creative people working hard to keep the arts accessible to all members of our rural community.
Thank You so Much for All That You Do!
So many citizens are participating in art activities at our local libraries and the Allegany Arts Association, The Wellsville Art Association, The Belfast Organization for Artists, The Tri-County Arts Council, The Wellsville Creative Arts Center, The Allegany Artisans, The Arts for Rural America, and other local creative groups and organizations. Although this special event is dedicated to Women Artists; our region is abundant with talented male artists who join them in this mission..there just isn't room to list/tag everyone here but, WE know who you are. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
